"I have been experimenting in various medium for more than 8 years, this copy-paste extraordinaire exhibition turns me to the right medium or probably wrong". (Henry Foundation)
Henry Foundation has finished his study in printmaking Department, Jakarta Arts Institute in 2000. He has been working with various medias such as printmaking, performance art, interactive art, video art and some projects on music.
Other than his involvement in some art projects with ruangrupa, he also works as video director with Anggun Priambodo under The Jadugar label. This creative collaboration has gained national recognition such as "The Best Director" for MTV Indonesia Video Music Awards 2004. Their directing style has given new aesthetic reference for Indonesian music video through their works for bands like LAIN, The Brandals, Naif and Boys R’Toys. Henry Foundation a.k.a Batman is a vocalist of Goodnight Electric, an electronic pop band who has launched two albums. Untill now, he works independently as graphic designer and video director and invited to many parties in some clubs and youth music events in Jakarta as DJ.
With his second solo exhibition titled copy-paste extraordinaire, Henry Foundation comes back to visual art scene to present his new works in painting and graphic at RURU Gallery.

For Henry Foundation, "copy-paste" is not just a term that reflects the basic ideas of his creative process, it's more than that. "Copy-paste" becomes an ideology and zeitgeist of our live now. Nowadays, when various informations are easily presented and accessed, right in front of our eyes, at the same time it change our point of view about the world. An artist now cannot create from the very zero point, because it's impossible to reject all informations that occupy. Self actualization then seems like wearing dress: always has a limited choices. Existential statements are not more than photo sessions. These ideas are what Henry wants to state. But with no tendency to criticize, his works in this exhibition offer the artists identity problems in relax and comfort way. (Agung Hujatnikajennong)
